Exploring the Tropical Aquatic World for Kids
This book series in-the-making will invite young children (ages 5 and up) into the enchanting coastal waters of the Philippines through playful, engaging storytelling and vivid hand-painted illustrations. It aims to:
- Spark curiosity and wonder about marine life found in our tropical coastal ecosystems without feeling like a lecture.
- Bring charismatic aquatic animals to life — inspired by real encounters and adventures experienced by the author, making the stories authentic and relatable.
- Bridge gaps in access by allowing children who may never see these creatures in real life to learn about and cherish them through imaginative books.
- Celebrate biodiversity by blending creative artistry with scientific reality, offering rich visuals and narratives about the living beings sharing our oceans today.
- Reach beyond age limits —while perfect for young readers aged 5+, the stories and art are designed for anyone young at heart who wants to connect with the wonders of marine life.
Our story-based children’s books are crafted to nurture a sense of wonder, stewardship, and cultural respect for the archipelago’s ecosystems. Each book brings conservation themes alive through imaginative tales rooted in our local islands’ ecosystems and animals.
Our first protagonist is a Dugong – and her name is Donna!
